    Do I need previous experience?

        It is helpful to have some previous experience. While it does not need to be extensive, these programs are not like private lessons. Our staff are available to give feedback, encouragement, help plan/implement goals and growth plans.

    Are Bethel College School of Music programs accredited?

        Courses or programs are not individually or regionally accredited. However, Bethel College is a member of the Transnational Association of Christian Colleges and Schools (TRACS) which offers institutional accreditation. This means that the courses and programs offered by Bethel Tech and approved by TRACS- are accredited because of Bethel College’s status. TRACS is recognized by the United States Department of Education (ED), the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA), and the International Network for Quality Assurance Agencies in Higher Education (INQAAHE).

    Do Bethel College School of Music credits transfer?

        The TRACS accreditation ensures the credits earned at BSoM meet national standards for academic quality. However, the transferability of credits depends on the receiving institution. Each college or university has its own policies regarding which credits they accept. If you are considering transferring credits to another school, it’s a good idea to contact their admissions or registrar’s office to confirm if they will accept BSoM credits. Keep in mind that schools with similar accreditations or educational focus are more likely to accept transferred credits.

        To facilitate this process, BSoM provides official transcripts and course descriptions to assist in credit evaluations.

    Can I complete the program at my own pace?

        While you can manage your weekly schedule, please note that the program has fixed start and end dates. This means you will need to adhere to the established timeframe and cannot finish earlier than the scheduled completion date. 

    What do the spiritual classes cover?

        The Spiritual Formation Classes offer an in-depth introduction to spiritual practices that are essential for growing in the grace of God. These classes go beyond the traditional classroom experience by providing practical tools and spiritual disciplines that help students cultivate a vibrant relationship with God.
